Security Analyst

Territory: Nashville, TN

This position administers the enforcement of corporate, regulatory, and risk management policies and assists in developing, implementing and maintaining corporate information security standards, technologies, processes, and procedures. This position coordinates, administers, monitors and maintains security infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, intrusion prevention systems, content filtering systems, SIEM and event management systems, Antivirus, and vulnerability assessment programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Implement products and services as required to maintain compliance with existing, new, or changing regulations and auditing recommendations.
  • Administer security policies to control access to resources observing least privilege.
  • Manage and maintain patch installation for operating systems, software applications and hardware
  • Manage and maintain security systems including firewalls, virus protection systems, Web/Email filters, computer forensic systems, and network and host-based intrusion prevention systems
  • Create and maintain security documentation
  • Protect systems by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources.
  • Work closely with technology and compliance teams for troubleshooting security related problems as well as identifying and implementing security strategy.
  • Monitor server logs, firewall logs, intrusion detection logs, and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity, and make recommendations based on those findings,
  • Research attempts to compromise security posture and recommend solutions.
  • Assist in user awareness training as needed
  • Design, implement, and report on security system activity, and perform end-user activity audits
  • Work with vendors to arrange for upgrades, updates, patches and replacements on software and hardware
  • Assist with 3rd party due diligence as pertains to cybersecurity best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

Education: A Bachelor’s degree or 7 years of related experience.

Experience: 3+ years relevant user administration and Privileged Access Mgmt systems

Certifications & Licenses: Information Security certifications are preferred (e.g. CEH, OSCP, GSEC/GCIH etc.) or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Risk Management – Ability to perform information systems audit, identity access management, and/or information security.
  • Business Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Moderate Computer Skills - Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.
  • Strong Communication and Collaboration- Regularly uses complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to department or middle management.
  • Moderate Independent Judgement - Results are defined; sets goals and determines how to achieve results with few or no guidelines to follow; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction.
  • Varied Business Problems - Problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedents and practices, and may collaborate with other operating areas.
