Mortgage Business Analyst

Territory: Franklin, TN


The Mortgage Business Analyst compiles, analyzes and interprets data to make tactical recommendations to our business. Applies descriptive statistical data to mortgage operations and presents recommendations in a meaningful format; through reporting, power point presentations, modeling, training materials, announcements and testing. Participates in mortgage executive and operational meeting. Analyst must be highly competent, a self-starter, highly accountable and willing to work long hours with little direction. Provides subject matter expertise on all matters of business analytical or operational needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Working subject matter knowledge in consulting and advising business partners on ad hoc or undefined matters related to business analytics and decision support solutions. Pursues opportunities to utilize data delivery and business solutions techniques to optimize their contribution to resolving business issues.
  • Works with mortgage executive team and key stakeholders to deliver and increase efficiency and effectiveness of Operational needs: reporting, documentation, meeting follow-ups, presentations and communication
  • Leverage working knowledge of relationship between executive management and mortgage staff to improve communication, value and accountability into the mortgage division
  • Create, transcribe, and distribute meeting agendas and minutes
  • Prepare confidential correspondence, reports and other complex documents
  • Gather documents and analyze business needs and requirements in a clear and concise manner to provide a clear definition of application functionality.
  • Data reporting, analytics and support of projects. Performs compilation, analysis and reporting of data
  • Prepare executive presentations for board meetings, financial reporting, town halls, etc.
  • Adherence to Policies and Procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and /or Experience  

Bachelor Degree in Business required (Finance, MIS, etc) 

5+ years of direct financial services or mortgage experience preferred

5+ years of working/presenting with executive management is a plus

Experience with audits or exams a plus  

Language Skills   

Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. The associate should also have the ability to speak before groups or employees of the organization. 

Mathematical Skills  

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic adding, subtracting, and multiplying.   

Reasoning Ability  

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or scheduled form. 

Computer Skills  

Must have knowledge of Word Processing Software, Spreadsheet Software, Power Point and Outlook
