Mortgage Closing Coordinator

Territory: Greer, SC

Summary:      Employee will coordinate all functions associated with loan closings working in conjunction with the Processing, Underwriting and Closing Departments. Employee will be responsible for the maintenance of the loan closing calendar and all internal and external client communication required to provide an expedient and professional closing process.

  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure file and documents meet company and compliance requirements.
  • Manage Closing Calendar to ensure in accordance with management instruction and ensure that appropriate file quality and timeliness are provided to clients.
  • Confirm that documents are drawn within posted turn times and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Communicate with clients on items required, deadlines and scheduling issues.  
  • Verify several aspects of the documentation and process including, but not limited to: property address,      wire information for funding, information on insurance policy, all fees, impound and MI. Ensure documents correspond to the correct program and FB guidelines.
  • Coordinate and communicate with client and processing team for correction and completion of all required      documentation for the Closing Department.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of entire loan life cycle in order to fully understand implication of the work of the closing function.
  • Become proficient with the document management system.
  • Accurately electronically file documents and information in the system and ensure all information is complete and accurate. Use checklists and other job aides as necessary to accurately complete all required information.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and required.

Qualifications:

  • Loan Closing and/or processing experience of 3+ years preferred
  • Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills Required
  • Time management and ability to perform in a multi-tasking environment

Education and /or Experience

  • Some college preferred or commensurate experience.    
  • Knowledge of loan documents and security instruments used in real estate closings. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Must be able to work independently
  • Must be able to work in deadline oriented, timing sensitive environment.

 

Language Skills

Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. The associate should also have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Must also have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, and individual should have knowledge of Database software; and Word Processing software.
