Loan Doc Review

Territory: Lexington, TN

This position is structured as a progression.  The incumbentís level will be based on experience, complexity of loans reviewed and performance.

 General Functions:  The incumbent will be responsible for the review of loan and supporting documentation to ensure the bankís interests are protected, adherence to applicable policies and regulations, and the customerís loan set-up is accurate.

 Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Review all consumer and commercial purpose loan packages in accordance with the approved scope of review.  The primary goal of this review is to ensure completeness and accuracy of loan documentation, adherence to FirstBank lending policies and legal/regulatory compliance.
  2. Ensure attachment and perfection of liens on any collateral securing the loans.
  3. Ensure loans are closed under the terms of the loan approval form and that adequate levels of approval have been obtained.
  4. Review Cardinal (AS400) to ensure accurate loan set-up.
  5. Set up any necessary collateral records and appropriate exceptions for follow-up and reporting.
  6. Provide guidance to loan officers and loan assistants in areas of loan documentation and policy as the need arises.
  7. Other miscellaneous responsibilities as required including the set-up of collateral and credit files.

 Education / Experience Requirements:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Prior work experience with a bank, title company or law office is desirable.
  3. Completion of FirstBank compliance certification program.
  4. Any college or job related coursework will be a plus.

 Knowledge & Skills:

  1. Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and analyze complex information.
  2. Understanding of lien attachment and perfection rules for various collateral types.
  3. Understanding of consumer and commercial lending regulations.
  4. Working knowledge of Cardinal AS400.
  5. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Must be a team oriented person and possess the ability to work effectively under pressure and competing priorities.
  7. Must be adaptable to change.

 Equipment:

  1. Personal Computer Skills
  2. Software experience in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and other related software
  3. Operation of other general office equipment including fax machines, copiers, telephones, printers, etc.

 Contacts:

The incumbent will have frequent contact with loan officers, loan assistants, Loan Administration personnel and various levels of management depending on the situation.  The incumbent will interact daily with other areas of the Loan Servicing Center.
