Sr. Teller

Territory: Lexington, TN


Associate must have the ability to provide service to bank customers by processing customer transactions promptly, correctly and efficiently.   Accepting checking and saving deposits, cashing checks, processes withdrawals and accepts loan payments.  Run inside or free standing drive in window.  Can perform functions in the balancing of the Vault, ATM, Teller Cash Dispensers. Cash Items or such other items that may need to be completed in the teller department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • The ability to rationalize and make on the spot decisions regarding customer transactions, weighing customer satisfaction issues with Bank exposure loss or fraud.
  • Ability to manage vault cash and place orders withFEDas needed.
  • Routinely assists with administrative tasks associated with the teller function.
  • Cross-sell bank products and services
  • Strong communication skills
  • Detailed oriented, with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Well versed in all federal regulations and teller role and responsibilities in each act.
  • Familiar with Head Teller duties and can fill in their absent.
  • Ability to be Purchaser for branch.
  • Ability to run Remote Item Capture
  • Back up to timekeeper.
  • Capable of assisting with the operation, and balancing of ATM, or Teller Cash Dispensers.

Customer Service

  • Display responsiveness to lobby traffic and customer needs and handle all levels of customer service to maximize customer service.
  • Ensure each customer is acknowledged in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Provide prompt and accurate follow through on all customer inquiries, requests, and complaints.
  • Offer the customer an alternative if unable to satisfy a request.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills necessary to interact positively with both customers and staff members.

Education and /or Experience

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.  The associate should also have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but not involved written or oral instructions.  Must also have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, and individual should have knowledge of Database software; Spreadsheet software; and Word Processing software.

The employee must occasionally bend, lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (computer work).
