Advanced Accountant

Territory: Nashville, TN

Summary:

A successful accountant combines excellent analytical and organizational skills to provide support to the accounting/finance team. You will be responsible for accurately reconciling various general ledger accounts and answering questions from internal team members. You will assist with various research/special projects and compiling information for audit requests.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

.   Reconcile investment portfolio

.   Maintain holding company financial records

.   Accurately prepare and submit various regulatory reports (e.g., FR2900, weekly & quarterly FHLB loan reporting, monthly Federal Reserve reporting)

.   Prepare daily, monthly and quarterly reconciliations as assigned and ensure the timely resolution of reconciling items

.   Accurately post entries to the general ledger

.   Ensure policies/processes are documented, projects are prioritized and business objectives met

.   Strong analytical abilities to resolve complex issues and provide resolution to bank staff, auditors and regulators. 

.   Collaborate with others across multiple departments and lines of business

.   Continuously analyze current business work flows and productivity/efficiency results in order to seek process improvements.

.   Assume responsibility for other related duties as required or assigned

Education and/or Experience:

.   Bachelorís degree in accounting/finance

.   3 + years of banking operations/accounting experience

 

Language Skills

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and general public.

 

Other Skills and Abilities 

.        Must be accurate, flexible, organized and able to independently manage multiple priorities while meeting assigned deadlines.

.        Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

.        Strong knowledge of Excel and proficient in accounting software

.        Communicates effectively with all levels of bank employees

.        Problem resolution skills

.        Reliability, flexibility, professional etiquette and sound judgment are important
