Mortgage Lock Desk Analyst

Territory: Nashville, TN

Lock Desk Analyst

 

Summary:  

Primary function is to manage mortgage interest rate locks, execute pricing, and provide exceptional customer service to Retail Sales staff, Consumer Direct staff, Wholesale customers and Correspondent customers. Position will work closely with all facets of FirstBank Mortgage and our business partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  •  Work with sales force to ensure all loans are locked within FirstBank policies and procedures
  •  Assist Loan officers with non-routine product and pricing questions 
  •  Handle relocks, extensions, and product changes for the sales force 
  •  Commit Best Efforts loans to multiple investors 
  •  Assist in reporting/analytics for the Capital Markets team

Education and/or Experience  

  •  BS degree required with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance
  •  Progress towards or completion of MBA or Masters in Finance/Accounting

Language Skills 

Ability to effectively present complex information in a simple, logical, and brief manner and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and general public.

Mathematical Skills 

Must have excellent analytical/problem solving skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  Understanding of finance and accounting principles. 

 

 

Reasoning Ability 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, look up tables, etc), Powerpoint, Word and Microsoft Access.  VBA skills preferred.
